The ICTRAC Beacon 55 marks rooms in which positions are to be worked out room by room. The ICTRAC tags pick up the beacon signal and pass that information on to the ICTRAC system, which then determines the room. The Beacon 55 simply fits into a socket outlet and is later registered in the system through its QR code, so installing it is independent of commissioning the system. Its range is about 10 to 15 m; larger rooms should be fitted with several beacons.
