The ICPROX-CAM covers the area behind the vehicle — including everything radio positioning cannot see: pallets, walls and parked trailers carry no tag. A camera detects the edges in the image, a built-in time-of-flight sensor measures the distance and confirms them. Only what both methods agree on is registered.
Setup runs through the built-in web interface. The CAM works with the ICPROX-CPU and with the ICPROX-4R2I as a vehicle module. Both evaluate a logic input for reversing — the rear-area sensing can therefore be armed only once reverse gear is engaged.
On the ICPROX display the rear area appears as a semicircle in four sectors, each in the colour of the reduction level currently applying to it. That shows where something is behind the vehicle, not merely that something is.
